Since the move over from New Zealand 15 months ago, he has been occupied with his New Zealand Natural Ice-cream franchise at the Sunshine Plaza and, after reading about ACOFE he decided to give it a go and see what new ventures he could try his hand at. Now after eight months, he has gone from not knowing anything about the stock market to trading on a permanent basis. Due to this reversal of fortunes, Garth and his wife have had to reschedule the business roster so he can trade when the stock market is open and work at the ice-creamery when the stock market is closed. "We've rearranged the business so that when the share market closes each day, I can go back to work" he says. It's turning into a family affair with Garth's wife Margaret, also getting involved with ACOFE, but she is going at her own pace. It provides flexibility so individuals can learn at a pace that suits them and covers a broad range of share trading, market options, futures and currencies to name a few. ACOFE offers valuable information that Garth says is easy for everyone to understand. Before getting involved in ACOFE, Garth's financial education was quite limited. He has owned businesses both here and in New Zealand, but for him, participating in a financial education system like ACOFE was a first. "I knew nothing, nothing about the stock market at all" he says. Garth has definitely come a long way in a short period of time and is zooming ahead with his money making ventures. He says he has powered through the course by reading a lot of literature on the topics provided. Garth believes the success behind ACOFE is in the way it is presented. It is made easy for everyone to understand and, learning is made simple through clear, easy to follow instruction and learning aids.
