HI Neil,
There are a couple of ways to do this, one way is accurate and the other is not.
You can quickly get a list of the top 300 by market capitalaisation, but this is not neccessarily the ASX300 list.
In IC, click on "Fundamentals", come down to "Fundamental Scan" and click on it. At the bottom of the next window, on the line "Market Capitalisation" click on the drop down arrow and select "Greater than or equal to", then in the box to the immediate right of this enter 450, then click the scan button.
What you have just done here is select every company with a market cap of $450,000,000 or more, this should bring up around 300 companies.
Some of these companies thought, are not in the ASX300 index, and you are also relying on the company changes and data adjustments being up to date, whic sometimes takes a few weeks to occur, this method is inaccurate.
To get the complete list, go to the www.asx.com.au, in the top left of the screeen will be a graph of the All Ords index, click on "more indicies" in this box. Click on "leading S&P/ASX indicies", scroll down to S& P/ASX300 and click on the link. Under the Index name, are 3 links, click on "Constituent List", you will then get a window which has 1-50 of 300, on the right side of this click on "Download Table".
You will then have an excel Spreadsheet listing the complete Constituent list for the index.
This now allows you to create a live charts list which is accurate, from this list. It is a bit of work to set up, but it only has to be done once, and the list is accurate.
After this you only need to add and delete companies as any changes are made, and these are made during the 3rd week of the 3rd month of each quarter, March, June, September December.
To do this, follow the previous method, but insted of clicking on the constituents list, there is a button above this which says "Index Changes", click on this and you will get a list of all additions and deletions.
Have an awesome day
Peter

Is this still current? I noticed that the info is a year old and have gone to that page but been unable to follow all the instructions as I think the ASX website have changed. I think I heard that you have to pay for this information now?
Thanks, Meaghan

Hi Meaghan
The Standard and Poors website has changed. I was able to download the information last week. If you are still after a list of the current constituents let me know and I will e-mail them to you. It's still free you just have to register.
Regards
Brian
